1994 & Counting

Well, welcome to my new/new old blog. I thought I would take this first blog and use it as a way for you to get to know me a little bit more/answer the question of “why the heck is she even trying to start up another blog again?”

First of all, starting this blog this soon was a spur of the moment, “heck! why not do it” moment, so I bare with me.

Second of all, here’s a little about me and where I came from: I was born on March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day) 1994 (hence the 1994 & counting), which then makes me a fresh 21-year-old. My parents started me off right by raising me on a farm in Farmersville, IL….then we moved to Springfield, IL for me to attend Rochester schools, where I then graduated from 13 years later. In those 13 in-between-years, I made friends, lost some and then gained some more, fought with my parents just like any other teenage girl (still do at times…), and then somehow landed my-very-much-in-need-of-Jesus self at Western Oaks Baptist church in the summer of 2010. At that church is where I met some of the most influential people in my life. That church is truly where I finally accepted Jesus- and here’s a perfect time for a shout out to my parents for raising me in the church and always pointing me to Jesus, sorry for taking so long!- and from there, the rest is history. Just the history of a sinner trying really hard to love like Jesus and really stinking at it (and still stinking at it).

So that leads me to my third of all: I am now in my last semester of college (Indiana Wesleyan University), looking forward to yet shakin’ in my boots when I think about student teaching in the fall. Life moves way too fast let me tell ya.

And that is where this blog comes in. I felt a strong call to start this blog again at the beginning of February of this year, but with school and relationships and life, I just could not figure out how to start it out right. In all honesty: I do not know where this blog is going. The Lord gave me a very blurry vision, so all I am doing is jumping in and trusting that He will take this blog where He wants. What I do know is that I want so badly for this blog to be a weekly thing, a weekly encouraging and uplifting place for anyone to turn to. All I want to do is encourage anyone who is willing to read what I have to say.

So I am starting now, cause I am 21 years young and full of Jesus, so, why not?
