What better way to start my blog than by a sappy Mother’s Day post? Well there really is no better way because Mommas deserve a little appreciation for all that they do for their kiddos.
First, I want to introduce my mom. She sure is special, and as my dad would say: “Yeah, she’s somethin’ special alright.” But truly she is. She is spunky, joyful, and funny without even knowing it.
She is clumsy (she falls way too often), weird (in an awesome way), and talkative (she can talk to anyone and everyone). She is so loving, encouraging and generous, all which make her such an incredible mother.
What really stinks is that I didn’t truly come to appreciate how fantastic my mom really was until I moved away for college. I was 4 and a half hours away, on my own, and all I had to do was call her up and she would still drop anything she was doing just to talk with me. It was not until about 7 months ago that I was blown away by my mom’s loving and beautiful heart when I called her frantic and crying because I had just experienced my first panic attack. You know your mom’s a keeper when her voice is all you need in order to realize you are okay, and you know she was always a good mom when she is the only one you want to talk to when times get tough.
All to say, mom you are great. And to prove it, here are a few things I have learned from you:
1. Love fiercely.
2. Give generously.
3. Be yourself, no matter who is watching.
4. Stop taking life so seriously.
5. Love your life, cause you’ve got a pretty good one.
Mom you truly live your life to the fullest, loving everyone you come into contact with. Your generous heart is something that I strive for, and your love for life makes you, you. So momma, thank you. For all that you do, all that you’ve done, and all that you are. You’re a keeper.
Shoutout to all moms- you truly are wonderful!
